OUR PATRON 'SAINT'
The inspiration behind Goofy Street, which was originally named BleepThem.com, came from one Rod Blagojevich, a former Governor of Illinois, who became an international "celebrity" after tapes of his telephone conversations became public during a sensational trial on federal corruption charges. The tapes were laced with profanity (mostly involving the "F" word), therefore much of what he said had to be "Bleeped" before media outlets could broadcast them.
Blagojevich was impeached by the Illinois General Assembly and removed from office by the Illinois Senate in January 2009. And he was indicted on corruption charges in April 2009. After one mistrial, he was retried and found guilty of 17 charges (including wire fraud, attempted extortion, and conspiracy to solicit bribes), and on December 7, 2011, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
To hear some of the uncut tapes, click on the image below, but we must warn you that these are uncensored without the Bleeps that obscured his foul language.

We have since changed our name to Googy Street as the site has evolved into a general humor and fun experience, featuring everything from Jokes and Humor, to Weird News, Strange Videos, Oddball Photos, and much, much more.
Still, we owe a debt of gratitude to Rod for his heavily Bleeped conversations that inspired us to start BleepThem.com in the first place.
